The Montclair Environmental Affairs office and Community Green will co-host a screening of the award-winning documentary, Flow, on Thursday, August 20, at 6:30 p.m., at the Montclair Public Library's Main Branch, 50 South Fullerton Ave. Admission is free. Please note that the start time is one-half hour earlier than previous screenings in order to allow for a longer discussion period after the film, until the Library closes at 9:00 p.m.

As August has historically been the driest month of the year in this region, this month we will look at the increasingly critical topic of water, the issues surrounding its future, and learn about what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the twenty-first century - The World Water Crisis.

Flow is Irena Salina's award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the twenty-first century – the world water crisis. The wide-ranging film dives into our planet’s most essential resource — and third-largest industry — to find pollution, scarcity, human suffering and corporate profit. And that’s just in the United States.

Salina, builds a case against the growing privatization of the world's dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.

Beyond identifying the problem, Flow also gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis, and those developing new technologies which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.

This will be the fourth environmental movie screening presented in the Montclair Green Film Series.
