The Historical Society of West Caldwell will present a slide-lecture titled “Using DNA for Genealogy” featuring family genealogist Jody Lutter on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

Lutter began using DNA testing several years ago when it became available to the public for genealogy purposes. This program will explore the science behind DNA testing to trace family histories and will also discuss what companies offer which DNA tests. Lutter will also explore what relatives should be tested, how to market yourself to your DNA matches, and what to do with the results. How to find online support will also be discussed.

This slide-lecture, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. To sign-up, call the library at 973-226-5441 or sign-up online at http://tinyurl.com/WCPL-Events.
