Toni's Kitchen Launches Summer Love Campaign!

Posted

Toni's Kitchen is excited to announce the launch of its Summer Love Food Program. Beginning June 25th, Toni's Kitchen will work with summer camps, preschools, libraries and sports programs to make sure that local children are well fed all summer long.

Summer can be a tough time for low-income families. As school closes, breakfast and lunch programs that children rely on disappear. Working families find themselves facing increased food costs as well as the expense of covering childcare or summer camps. It's a hefty impact for families that are already stretched.

Toni's Kitchen will work with dozens of community partner programs throughout the summer months to ensure healthy food is available where children gather. Brown bag lunches with healthy sandwiches and fresh fruit will be at the Montclair and Bloomfield public libraries as well as summer programs throughout our local area. Backpacks filled with healthy staples - oatmeal, tuna, raisins, etc. - will also go home with children enrolled in local preschool and tutoring programs. Keeping kids healthy and growing in safe affordable programs builds resilience for families.

Toni's will be busy seven days a week throughout the summer. Toni's Kitchen invites the community to support this busy program. Make a recurring donation on our website or volunteer in our kitchen. Drop by with healthy food for our backpack program or produce from your garden.

Special thanks to Partners For Health foundation for their support of this work and to Nicolos Italian Bakery and Deli for the donations of gorgeous fresh bread for sandwiches. Looking forward to a yummy summer ahead!
