Toddler Time

Two-year-olds and the adults in their lives explore language and numbers through stories and songs. Picture books, flannel board stories, and nursery rhymes are used to introduce the wonder of books. Please note that registration is required for each individual storytime.

Babies in the Library

Babies meet babies! Parents and caregivers sing nursery rhymes together with their little ones. Songs, language activities, and board books will be introduced during each session. Make baby's first library experience a special one! Please note that registration is required for each individual storytime.

Mother Goose

Mother Goose is an excellent way to promote literacy among our preschool-aged patrons. Picture books, flannel board stories, songs and puppets are used to build upon children’s natural enthusiasm for books and reading. Each session will end with a simple art experience for little ones. *Please note that registration is required for each individual storytime.

Learners United: Tutoring Workshops presented by The Michael Aymar Foundation

Join us for the final drop-in tutoring workshop presented by the Michael Aymar Foundation (the 6-week series took place on Sundays, October 1 through November 5, at 4pm). The sessions are designed to provide a forum for Middle School students to identify their obstacles and understand how much control they have over their own study environment and habits to become independent learners. Mr. Aymar's students and other speakers will share stories, tips, and lessons that help young students read and write more effectively. Game On: An International Games Week Event

October 29th through November 4th is International Games Week (IGW). By celebrating IGW

at our library we wish to encourage our young patrons to interact with various groups of their peers, share their expertise with each other, and possibly learn how to play a new game. We will have various board games and our Wii games. Get out of the house and play with others at the Montclair Public Library, the center of the Montclair community.

Intro to Genius Gems! To learn more about them, visit geniusgems.com. Play and tinker with Genius Gems! Families are invited to experience storytelling, songs, and rhymes in Portuguese with Ana Cristina dos Santos. Dos Santos is an educator who has taught children in Brazil and NYC for many years before moving to Montclair with her family. No registration required

Celebrate the holidays between Thanksgiving and New Years altogether with Lucy Kalantari’s newest release, It’s the Holidays! This interactive performance is filled with new original songs and other familiar tunes to celebrate Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Families will find themselves carried away in Kalantari’s addictive scat along play and a joy that will lift the spirits for the festive season. TAB Meeting (Teen Advisory Board)

Join us for our November Teen Advisory Board meeting! The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) of the Montclair Public Library meets the first Wednesday of each month, October-May. TAB members receive community service hours for participating.
