Bullets over Greenwood Ave as 30-Year Old Man Critically Injured

Montclair Police have shared details of a shooting on Greenwood Avenue in Montclair yesterday that resulted in a critically injured male rushed to the hospital.  The 30-year old man was shot multiple times.

Here is the official report from the Montclair Police Department:

At approximately 1:58 PM, Montclair Police responded to the area of 50
Greenwood Avenue on a report of shots fired with a possible injured person.

Responding officers arrived and located the injured subject, a 30-year old male from Montclair, lying in the street suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. Officers immediately rendered medical aid.

Montclair Ambulance Unit arrived on scene and took over medical care.
Witnesses provided police with a description of the fleeing suspect as well as his last direction of flight.

An officer responding to the scene observed an individual matching the description of the suspect. This person was detained and is currently
in custody. Charges are pending.

A second individual determined to be involved is currently in custody at this time and charges are pending against this party as well.The injured party was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Multiple firearms were recovered from the scene. 

This appears to be an isolated incident believed to be stemming from a dispute between individuals that knew each other and there is no danger to the public.
