The following announcement was sent to Montclair families today.
Dear Families/Caregivers and Staff:
The district is currently using Detail Associates to test water for lead in drinking fountains at all of our buildings. The current EPA standard/guideline is 15 parts per billion (ppb). Even though a majority of our results are coming back well below these limits, we are shutting down any fountain that had any detectible level until we can remediate and retest. Please know that there are many fountains in the building with no levels at all and these are still operational. If your children are reporting that a fountain is closed, this is the reason.
