Stay warm this winter and cozy up for Valentine’s with cheese from the Alps! Affinage Cheese Shop next to Calandra’s Bakery in Fairfield will be transformed into a French bistro and will host a French cooking demonstration in conjunction with Oui, Oui Je Speak Franglais onSaturday, February 11 from 2pm to 4pm. Véronique Delmas of Chez Véro will be making “Raclette,” a comforting cheese dish from the Alps with potatoes, saucisson and pickles as accompaniments.

This event is free and the tastings will be unique! The cheeses tasted will be available for purchase. Chez Véro will also be selling their very own hand-crafted brioches and meringues (cash or check only for these items).

“Oui, Oui, Je Speak Franglais is a campaign targeted to promote French and American language and culture. During the weekend leading to Valentine’s Day, Oui Oui, Je Speak Franglais is introducing raclette (pronounced ra-‘klet) in the cool, chic atmosphere of a French bistro at Affinage Cheese Shop," says Emefa Duho, founder of the campaign.

Affinage Cheese Shop is open every day, Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm, Saturdays 10am to 6pm and Sundays 10am to 5pm.
