Caldwell-West Caldwell School Budget Passes - Davidson Re-Gains Seat on Board of Education

Yesterday,968 people cast their votes in the Caldwell - West Caldwell board of education budget vote, and for the lone candidate running for the BOE seat, incumbent Mary Davidson.

Davidson was uncontested and had 669 votes.

The Caldwell - West Caldwell budget passed.

Votes for the budget totaled 601, and votes against it were 355.

This year, it was a lean budget and offered voters a zero percent tax levy increase. If you own an average priced home of $432,000 your tax levy for the boe portion will be $129.

School budgets in West Essex and North Caldwell also passed.

For West Essex, from Fairfield two candidates gained seats:Frank Antonucci and Anthony Rubinich.

In North Caldwell, incumbent Robert Kessler and new boe member Valerie Buccino will serve.

the tax levy in North Caldwell rose by 1.06 percent, so if you own an average priced home of $452,000 your tax bill for this portion of the boe levy will go up $154 per year.

For North Caldwell, your portion of the tax bill for Grandview and Gould schools will raise your taxes by about $62 per year.
