Two trash treasure divers are the surprising heros of this weekend's frightening multiple New Jersey and New York bomb attacks. While searching for hidden valuables in a backpack left outside in Elizabeth, which may have killed and injured many, the two local trash pickers discovered the potentially deadly bombs in Elizabeth, planted allegedly by Ahmad Khan Rahami.
When they poked around in the suitcase's contents, they saw devices with wires sticking out of them.
Realizing they had stumbled upon a dangerous bomb they called the police.
Then, the official manhunt was on.
The police and F.B.I. used robots to dismantle the active bombs, and one blew up during the process.
The man suspected of bombing the Chelsea area and perhaps being part of a cell in New Jersey was captured after a wild shootout in Linden New Jersey.
Found sleeping on a bench in Elizabeth, the disheveled young alleged terrorist was captured by Elizabeth police
after a shootout. No one was killed and the suspect is now in custody.
Even with two police officers attempting to take him into custody, 28 year old Ahmad Rahami of Elizabeth did not go quietly, and instead shot one police officer in his abdomen, where luckily a bullet proof vest was sitting, and another in his face, where a bullet grazed him, before he was captured.
With 10 bombs left to do significant damage to human life, this was a fast and dramatic end to a stressful weekend in New Jersey and New York.
